The Organization is Adding and Promoting Talent Across Three Departments
RENO, Nev. (November 8, 2022) – Reno Tahoe today announced the addition of four new members to its staff, including a new position at the National Bowling Stadium (NBS). Reno Tahoe brings on Brent Bowers as Director of Sales for the NBS, Emily Flynn as Regional Director of Convention Sales, Rob Allen as Operations Manager, and Tom Van Ruiten as Director of Marketing.

Brent Bowers is the Director of Sales for the NBS, a newly created position focused on soliciting and booking bowling groups and tournaments at the one-of-a-kind, bowling-dedicated facility. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, Mr. Bowers works in conjunction with the sales, marketing, and events teams to market the venue and initiate promotions designed to increase revenue. Mr. Bowers has an extensive background in bowling, previously hosting the U.S. Open, the USBC Queens and the USBC Women’s National Championship tournaments in Wichita, KS. Bowers has deep roots with USBC, formerly the Director of Great Plains USBC and Kansas State USBC. He joined Reno Tahoe in September 2022.
Emily Flynn is Reno Tahoe’s Regional Director of Convention Sales for the Rocky Mountain and Plain State Territories. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, Ms. Flynn is responsible for effectively soliciting and selling the Reno, Sparks, and North Lake Tahoe region as a convention destination. With nearly 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Ms. Flynn recently held senior managerial positions at Marriott International and Caesars Entertainment, and is a graduate of Xavier University. Based in St. Louis, MO, Emily Flynn joined the Reno Tahoe sales team in May 2022.
Rob Allen is the Operations Manager overseeing management of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center (RSCC). Reporting to the Director of Facility Operations, Mr. Allen is responsible for the administration, operation and maintenance of the RSCC, as well as managing client relations, security, and policy administration. Joining the Reno Tahoe team at Wildcreek Golf Course in 1995, Mr. Allen has extensive experience at various Reno Tahoe owned and operated facilities, and maintains nearly a dozen professional, industrial, and safety certifications. Mr. Allen’s was most recently the Senior Facility Manager of the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, and was officially promoted to RSCC Operations Manager in September 2022.
Tom Van Ruiten is the Director of Marketing for Reno Tahoe. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, Mr. Van Ruiten is responsible for leading marketing operations and analyzing the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and programs through effective strategy, process development, budget administration and marketing analytics. Most recently the Associate Director of Performance Marketing at Noble Studios, Mr. Van Ruiten has more than a decade of experience developing campaign strategies and utilizing data-informed research. Van Ruiten joined the Reno Tahoe marketing team in March 2022, and is a graduate of the California State University, Stanislaus.
