RENO, Nev. (June 30, 2024) – The 150th Shriners Imperial Session is being held in Reno Tahoe through Thursday, July 4.
More than 4,000 Shriners, as well as their ladies and family members, will spend the week in Northern Nevada, attending to the organization’s operational plans for the upcoming year and addressing necessary adjustments to the policies and bylaws governing Shriners International and Shriners Children’s, a child-focused healthcare network with hospitals across the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Over the last 102 years, Shriners Children’s has improved the lives of more than 1.5 million children.
“Shriners International is not just a fraternal organization built on camaraderie,” said Reno Tahoe President and CEO Mike Larragueta. “Shriners have been working toward a greater good for more than 150 years, embodying values that benefit every community with active Shriners. On behalf of the entire destination, I am very pleased to welcome Shriners International to Reno Tahoe.”
The 2024 Shriners International Imperial Session began with the opening session Sunday, June 30 at the Reno Events Center in downtown Reno. The public is invited to attend the Shriners Imperial Parade along Virginia Street in downtown Reno at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2.
The estimated economic impact of the 2024 Shriners International Imperial Session is more than $6.9 million.
