RENO, Nev. (October 2, 2024) – The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) today released transient lodging and room tax statistics showing August’s total of $55,845,967 as the highest Taxable Room Revenue ever recorded for a single month in Washoe County. Four of the top five revenue-producing months in Northern Nevada have come in the last 15 months.
“Reno Tahoe continues to be top-of-mind for leisure travelers looking to enjoy the outdoors, while maintaining access to a resort experience encompassing entertainment and relaxation,” said Reno Tahoe President and CEO Mike Larragueta. “Northern Nevada’s notoriety as both a family friendly and business friendly destination has been buoyed by recently increased air service, and we intend to keep working with Reno Tahoe’s regional partners and stakeholders to continue this momentum.”
In August 2024, Cash Occupied Rooms were up 5.2%, from 315,116 to 331,510, compared to August 2023. Taxable Room Revenue in Washoe County was up 4.2%, from $53,576,718 to $55,845,967, over that same time period, and Average Daily Rates (ADR) decrease 0.9%, from $170.02 to $168.46.
