RENO, Nev. (October 11, 2024) – The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) today announced the promotion of Jose Martinez to Vice President of Venue Operations for Reno Tahoe.
“Jose has vast experience and institutional knowledge of venue management best practices and operations at every level,” said Reno Tahoe President and CEO Mike Larragueta. “He has a clear vision of how to effectively motivate his team, manage resources and enhance the event experience for our customers and their attendees. I’m thrilled that Jose has chosen to continue his long, successful career with Reno Tahoe.”
Reporting to the President and CEO, Martinez is responsible for managing the operations of Reno Tahoe’s four major event venues: the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno Events Center, National Bowling Stadium, and Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Martinez is responsible for capital expenditures, resource management, staffing and operational budgets at all four venues. Martinez also oversees the management agreement with Aramark, which was awarded the food services contract in 2022.

Most recently the Executive Director of Facility Operations, Martinez has served the Reno Tahoe community for more than 30 years, focusing on customer service, operations, and project management at Reno Tahoe-managed event and entertainment venues.
