RENO, Nev. (June 2, 2022) – Visit Reno Tahoe today announced it has officially taken over the management of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center (RSCC), Reno Events Center (REC), National Bowling Stadium (NBS) and the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center (RSLEC). Visit Reno Tahoe owns and operates the RSCC and is once again overseeing operations at the state-owned RSLEC, as well as the REC and the NBS, both owned by the City of Reno; all of which were under a third-party management agreement since July 2018.
“Today represents a tremendous opportunity for our organization, local businesses impacted by tourism, and the greater Reno Tahoe destination,” said Visit Reno Tahoe President and CEO Charles Harris. “This marks a renewal of our commitment to control costs and enhance the guest experience, which will be done under the leadership of Trent LaFerriere, who has been working tirelessly to ensure a successful and seamless transition.”
After more than 18 years working in management, maintenance and operations at the four Visit Reno Tahoe-managed facilities, Trent LaFerriere has been promoted to Vice President of Facilities. In this role, LaFerriere reports to the President and CEO and is responsible for budgeting, operations, staffing, maintenance, safety, compliance, and capital expenditures at all four facilities. Mr. LaFerriere also oversees the management agreement with Aramark, which was recently awarded the food services contract for the facilities.
The United States Conference of Mayors 90th Annual Meeting is the first post-transition event taking place in Reno Tahoe, June 3-6, with an evening event scheduled at the NBS on Saturday.
