RENO, Nev. (December 11, 2024) – The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) is thrilled to announce the upcoming WinterFest Indoor Track & Field Meet, hosted by Reno Tahoe Athletics. This event is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at the Reno Tahoe Indoor Track, located in the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. WinterFest invites athletes of all ages and skill levels to participate in a day of competition and community engagement.

WinterFest welcomes participants of all ages — from 6th grade to 90+ years — offering a unique opportunity for individuals to experience the thrill of track and field in a world-class facility. Throughout the day, athletes will compete in their respective age divisions, with heats for each event assigned by age and ability. Field events include the long jump, triple jump, shot put, pole vault and high jump, with multiple attempts given for each athlete in these events. Track events will include the 60m hurdles, 60m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, and 3200m, as well as a free 8x200m relay exhibition, which is open to all participants.

Registration is open now at RenoTahoeAthletics.org, with an entry fee of $10 per event. All registrations must be completed by Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 10 p.m., with late registrations incurring an additional $5 fee. Spectators are welcome, with an entry fee of $10 per person, while children aged seven and under attend free. Parking is available for $10 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

The Reno Tahoe Indoor Track, which debuted earlier this month with the Silver State Invitational & Multis/Alumni Event, is Nevada’s only indoor track facility. Featuring a Mondo-manufactured track with a 12-degree fixed-bank oval and six 42-inch-wide lanes, as well as an eight-lane sprint track, the facility meets World Athletics certification standards. These advanced features position Reno Tahoe as a premier destination for track and field events and sports tourism.

WinterFest is part of an exciting season of competitions at the new venue, including the USATF Pacific Holiday Invitational (Dec. 27–29) and future collegiate meets in partnership with the University of Nevada.
